What is this? TogetherLoop is a social network. You can post whatever you're thinking about, photos, videos, links, whatever.
How is it different? We get back to basics. Just share the stuff that you want, see what your friends are up to. You don't have to fight through ads or "suggestions" to see your people, and what they post. Newest thing first.
So no algorithms? Nope. On TogetherLoop, you aren't product for advertisers.
You mean it's actually social? Yes! The legacy social apps haven't been about engaging with people you know in a long time. They endlessly suggest celebrities and influencers and brands to follow, so you'll keep scrolling. Maybe that's fine, but TogetherLoop is just for the humans you know. You won't find any "AI" buttons here.
What do you need from me? We require a valid email address to register. It is only used to identify you to login.
This can't be free. It's not. Well, it'll be free for life for early adopters. After that, there will be a semi-annual fee that is optional. If you want to post, you'll spend a few bucks on the subscription. If you just want read-only access to your friends, that will be free.
Why will you charge money for this? Nothing is truly free. Other platforms are selling you to advertisers. They drive engagement to keep you there, so you can see more ads. We believe that it's better to ask for a few bucks and leave the advertisers out of it.
Surely you're tracking everything we do. We may use some internal tooling to determine what features you like, but we're not building a dossier on you. Google, Facebook and such use tracking all over the Internet to see what you like, so they can sell you stuff. You're buying TogetherLoop, instead of us selling you supplements and crypto.
Where do I download it? TogetherLoop is a web app, so there are no gatekeeper app stores. It installs when you first login to it, and updates itself when you open it. On Android and iOS, once you're in, find the "add to home screen" button in your browser. We'll even prompt you to do it.
What features can I expect? Upload photos, video, links, text, direct messages... everything that you're already used to sharing. We'll have an "on this day" feature ready when people have been around for a year. Importnatly, it's always private. No one can DM you unless they're a friend, and nothing you post is visible to non-friends.
